We don't know each other and we probably never will, because I keep everybody at arm's length. I'm hopeless at making new friends and even worse at hanging on to the ones I've got.

I'm not a professor and I don't have a PhD. I got through college, maybe twice, but I couldn't tell you in what — I lost the diplomas. Someday I'd like to be a CEO, a director, a co-founder of something. Or sit on a board. Any board.

Day to day, I answer to nobody and explain myself to nobody, and I couldn't tell you what stress feels like or what it's like to run out of free time. I don't do blind dates and I don't send holiday cards. If my day doesn't start with good coffee, it's better off not starting at all.

I'm no intellectual, no know-it-all, and definitely no romantic. I believe in aliens, life before life, life after life, ghosts, flying pigs, and the Bermuda Triangle.

I've written bestselling novels, Thorn and The Influencer among them, and nobody has ever proven I actually know anything about anything.
